WHY take a tOUR with us?
The fact is, many parents are simply too busy to take their children on college tours. They have other children to worry about—soccer practices, music lessons, and other activities. Also, parents can’t always cancel their own personal and professional commitments in order to take their children to see colleges. By signing up for a tour, you’re letting us take care of all the planning and logistics! MeriEducation started taking students on college tours in 2010, and it’s been a hit.
WHO CAN COME? HOW MANY PEOPLE?
Anyone can come! Even students who don’t attend MeriEducation for tutoring can come. MeriEducation students who take a tour normally even invite their friends. Our tours host 6 to 12 students, so the tour is very intimate. In fact, many participants leave our tours with a group of new friends!
WHAT Does the tour include?
One-day college tours include transportation, lunch and dinner. Three-day college tours include transportation (ground and air), lunch/dinner, and lodging. Participants also get a tour booklet, which includes important information about each college, a list of recommended questions to ask during the tours, and space for students to take thorough notes on their experience.
Who are the CHAPERONES?
Our chaperones are heavily vetted; all have completed background checks and must have college degrees. College tours always include one chaperone who is on the MeriEducation management team (either a Director or Assistant Director). Most importantly, our chaperones are fun and outgoing, making the experience enjoyable for tour participants!
WHat makes IT SPECIAL?
Our college tours are special because we care about the participant experience. We try to take the participants to fun areas to dine. We hire and pay the tour guides directly, so the tour groups are small. If you sign up for a regular college tour, you might get stuck in a group of over 20 people! Yikes! For our college tours, it’s almost always just us. Some of our tour guides have even been past MeriEducation students.
